Beer Description
Village Cider pours a brilliant, pale straw-gold with crystal clarity and a lively, champagne-like effervescence that produces a fleeting white head.
Aroma: The nose is bright and exceptionally "green." It leads with a dominant scent of freshly pressed Granny Smith apples and tart skin, followed by a subtle, floral hint of apple blossoms. There is a faint, earthy sweetness in the background, but the overall impression is one of crisp, orchard-fresh fruit.
Palate: On the tongue, it is light-bodied with a sharp, tingly carbonation. It leads with a vibrant tartness and flavors of green apple, which is quickly balanced by a delicate, natural fruit sweetness. Unlike many commercial ciders, it has a distinct tannic dryness on the finish, leaving the palate feeling clean and refreshed rather than coated in sugar.
